[News] Adekunle Gold cries out as he becomes depressed for getting less applaud for his hard work

Adekunle Gold in his latest fan engagement email wrote on his struggles as an independent artist and how he’s been able to pull through.
In his words, ‘ my team is very tiny and I work really hard I actually have a terrible sleeping habit. I’m always on and I don’t know how to take breaks. Because of how much energy I expend, Sometimes, I get frustrated when the progression or validation does not match the amount of work I put in’.
See the full post below…
It’s been like what? 2 months? since my last letter? How are you? Hope you are keeping sane and taking breaks off the crazy timeline?
I was away from home on tour for the longest time in my life on tour. I’m not going to lie to you, this “Africa to the rest of the world” is not a cheap exercise, especially if you are an independent artist. And while there is great reward in coursing uncharted territory for me and watching my music cut through language barriers and put smiles on unfamiliar faces in the world, being up there was hard work.
I toured 4 countries, played large festivals and headlined my own shows, all of which I didn’t think was possible just a few years ago. I never went to boarding school but, I now know what homesickness is. It’s good to be back home.
While chatting with my best friend yesterday, I had an epiphany I wanted to share with you.
I love this music thing so much.
My team is very tiny and I work really hard I actually have a terrible sleeping habit. I’m always on and I don’t know how to take breaks. Because of how much energy I expend, Sometimes, I get frustrated when the progression or validation does not match the amount of work I put in.
This frustration causes me great despair sometimes, but I’ve been fortunate to be around people who ground and remind me of the love I have for it especially when I get carried away in the business of things.
At the beginning of my conversation yesterday, my biggest fear was failing miserably and that all my work would count for nothing. But I was reminded of these facts; music-making is only one-sided if you are making it for yourself, in this business, you hold a key, the audience is a lock.
It’s a game of probabilities where half of our successes are within our control, the rest is up to you. We can only hope that our keys match the locks and the audience likes what you put out while being true to your evolution. We can only hope that our work meets you at a point of your need.
Here’s the epiphany…on the days when your keys don’t match, you must remember to retain the love and joy of creating and pat yourself on the back for the doors you’ve already unlocked. On the days new doors open, be thankful that you tried because that was the reward for trying.
As I wind down to bed, you know what my biggest fear is now, leaving this earth, full of creativity and ideas because I was afraid someone wouldn’t like it and I ended up not working my gifts. What a shame that would be.
Not sure what you are passionate about Adedayo, my prayer for you this early morning is that the modalities of it don’t rob you of the joy of creation. May that joy keeps your fire burning, give you the diligence and the wherewithal to finish what you’ve started.
I have a little something I’m joyful about.
It’s called “AFRO POP”.
If you read through this email, then you have a super high chance of getting invited to hear my baby first.
Anyways that’s my little update.
Have an incredible week.

[News] Rihanna seems to be pregnant. See Prove

American singer, Robyn Rihanna Fenty popularly known as Rihanna might just be pregnant with her first baby.
Rihanna was seen at her 5th annual Diamond Ball in New York wearing a beautiful floor-length black dress, with a high neck and long sleeves covering most of her body but her protruded belly is what caught the eye of fans. While performing her song her “Lemon” with Pharell, fans were so excited to hear her sing after being off the music scene for so long.
However, the excitement increased when fans began to observe how big her belly has become. The singer upon leaving the event covered her belly and further kept the rumor mill spinning with a video of her interview with Essence. Rihanna spoke on the importance of being true to herself and how the women in her life have shaped her. She indirectly insinuated that she is expecting with her statement.
“I am a black woman. I come from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman and I’m gonna give birth to a black woman,” she said
This would not be the first time such rumors would come up as there were speculations that she was pregnant as soon as she started dating her current billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jamal in 2017. Is she really pregnant?

N6 says he believes it’s because they do not want him to be a successful rapper after being successful as an OAP.
He wrote:
Hello everyone I rarely do this but Let me open up to y’all on something. So throughout my career I’ve faced several obstacles promoting my Music that I never speak about & my fan base would not really understand. YesISaidIt ?I have supported several of my OAP colleagues when they Produced films, wrote books, pushed businesses, started fashion, cosmetic & hair lines, promoted their own personal musicians/ siblings etc. But once N6 gets a Buzz & is about to drop Music its like THIS ONE WANTS TO BE BOTH A SUCCESSFUL OAP & MUSICIAN AT THE SAME TIME & ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Its Really difficult doing what has never been done before. Why do I have to give up one thing I love for yall to allow Me be successful at the other… huh?? If I was promoting my Brother who was a musician he would have been successful a long time ago. Yall sabotage me all the time but will give me hugs, dms, ask for my help, hang out & even drink from the same bottle.
Yall got some Guts. NoCap Im the Guy who Promotes & Supports everybody only to be Sabotaged by my own Industry Time Again. ? Sadly yall should have Learnt some things about me by now. [News] Mr Eazi and Sarkodie accused of copyright infringement, Mr Eazi apologizes – Zaaki Azzay speaks

Days after Zaaki Azzay threatened to sue Mr Eazi and Sarkodie over an alleged rip-off of his 1996 song ‘ Marry me’ in their new song ‘ Na You’, the veteran singer has served an update on the copyright infringement notice.
Speaking to Sunday Scoop, Zaaki said Mr Eazi reached out to him after putting up the notice on Instagram. He said the “Leg Over” crooner apologized and also promised to give him his due benefits.
He said, “Mr Eazi called me yesterday night (Wednesday) and we spoke from about 1 am till 3 am. I must say that I was impressed with his level of humility and honesty because he spoke well. Firstly, he apologised and said the song is not his and he expected that Sarkodie would have done the right thing by reaching out to me before releasing the song. He was surprised that Sarkodie did not do that. He then apologised and gave me his word that he would acknowledge me on the song and also give me my due benefits. As a result of our discussion, all legal actions are on hold.”
“In Africa, we are growing. If it were before, we probably wouldn’t see it as a big deal. But now, everybody has seen that music is a big business and nobody is ready to play with his intellectual property anymore. With the way I reacted and how people responded, it shows that people are watching and are aware of what is going on” he added.

[Interview] There is no amount of money Osun state will make that my dad hasnt made – Davido

Davido says there is no amount of money Osun state can make in 30-40 years that his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, hasn’t made.
The 27-year-old singer who is gearing up for his wedding to his lover Chioma, said this in an interview with MTV Base TV host, Ehiz, yesterday September 4th. He explained why he was away from Nigeria for many months after his Uncle, Ademola Adeleke lost in the Osun state governorship election.
With the whole politics thing it was first about family. Honestly, it was first about family. I was in Osun with my guys. We saw everything in plain sight. Let me tell you a story about my uncle. My uncle is the last born of the family. The original politician of the family is Serubawon, my father’s elder brother.
“He was the first governor of Osun state; came back then went for senator you know when everybody for the state knows that this is the next governor and then we just woke up one day and they said he went to eat somewhere and he died.
“Yoruba culture when somebody holds an office and he passes on they either give the bride or the close relatives. The next in line is B red’s daddy and he is just a happy person. He doesn’t like politics but when you lose your brother everybody knows what’s up. With that, they wanted to give my uncle automatically.
“A day to them swearing him in as senator, they said no we want to do re-election, another guy has come up and my father doesn’t like wahala so he said let’s go to the other party if we lose we pack our thing and go. The next day we did election my uncle cleared 16 out of 17 local government areas.
“He became a senator in just a week. His own journey to winning that governorship primary election was out of sight that was how we knew this one nah God.
“It was painful and will tell everybody here that was the real reason I was not even in the country because of the politics. I have to watch what I say. If I was around he no go dey OK for me and my people. So I had to be a man and say look let me stay away.
“We have Adeleke University all the roads that lead was done by my father. There’s no money Osun wants to make in the next 30 to 40 years that my father has not made.

[News] Fans are the reasons celebrities live fake life – Kcee blasts

Kcee has pushed the blame of celebrities living fake lives as witnessed in the Nigerian entertainment industry on the fans.
Alleging that most celebrities lead fake lives, the Five Star Music boss stated that people don’t like it when one is real. He further disclosed that this pressure pushes many into faking it till they make it.
“90 per cent of celebrities lead fake lives because you guys (the public) are putting them under pressure. People don’t like it when you are real; they prefer it when you lie to them, and that’s why many fake it until they make it.
“If you are very honest and truthful with them (fans), your records will have slow sales. 80 per cent of celebrities rent apartments but they would claim they bought the houses. They go through that because fans put them under so much pressure. That you see someone on television does not mean the person is worth N1bn, so people should stop thinking that we’re living in heaven on earth” he told Saturday Beats.
Kcee also admitted faking it at some point in his 19-year music career. He however stated that he now talks about it because he has moved past that stage and is now successful.
“Yes, I have faked it at some point. When I started, I had to fake it. To be a celebrity, there is a perception you need to sell so that people can look up to you. I am saying this because I have gone through that and I have passed that stage. I am now successful. There was a time I was driving a Hummer jeep while my then partner, Presh, had his own. We would go to clubs and use all our money to pop champagnes. At the end of the day, we would throw the drinks away and go back home to eat noodles. We wanted to impress people and make them see us as the most expensive artistes.
“When I was in Ajegunle (Lagos) and I got to a level where I needed to leave that area, I used to tell people that I was living in Ikeja, though I was still staying at Ajegunle. Before you knew it, we started living in Ikeja and from there, we moved on to bigger things. There is faith life and also fake life. My own journey was always keying into that faith.
However, it got to a point that everything went to zero level, and when I had the second chance with Limpopo, my ideology changed. What came in then was maturity, and I made a lot of investments. I was able to buy things that even when I leave the earth, my children would inherit them”

[News] Tekno to be imprisoned for releasing agege video

The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) have revealed they would sanction Tekno and make sure he is used as a “scape-goat” in order to teach his colleagues some real lessons.
This declaration by NCAC comes after Tekno released the video to his new song “ Agege” featuring Zlatan Ibile in which the video shoot already caused a controversy in the last week after some Nigerians saw a sight of the singer, parading some girls dancing half-naked in a moving truck at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
The Director-General of the agency, Segun Rusenwe made this assertion after tekno went ahead to release the video while there are still on-going investigations regarding the indecency paraded at the video shoot and revealed also that Tekno’s action is a threat to National Security.
He said; “ No single person is bigger than Nigeria. We are going to use him as a scapegoat to send a strong signal that this government does not tolerate nonsense and immorality, but discipline, which is our moral principle “NCAC is committed to exposing proponents of such kinds of offensive sights and videos in Nigeria
“Since the offensive Tekno scam video came to limelight, I have received hundreds of telephone calls and SMS from Nigerians at home and others in the United Kingdom, U.S, Canada and other parts of the world.
“They are querying why such anomaly could be tolerated in Nigeria.
“Now that he has released the shameful video when investigation is still ongoing, we are going to inform security agencies to place him on their watch list.
“Because his action is a threat to national security and bad influence on Nigerian youths.
“We warn that nudity is not part of our culture and should not be tolerated.
“The Federal Government will henceforth fish out such clubs for nude dancers across the country for their promoters to face prosecution.”
Rusenwe also revealed Tekno’s act is condemnable under the law of the federation and is liable to go to jail.
“Section136, however, states that any person, who committed any act of gross indecency with another person in public, committed an offence and is liable upon conviction to three years
